Honda CEO Takanobu Ito gave a glimpse into the Japanese automaker’s future, announcing that a new Civic Type R is being developed for the European markets and is set to bow in 2015.


Unfortunately, Honda didn’t release any renderings or sketches of the new Civic Type R model, but the automaker did also say that its working on a new compact SUV model, and three new hybrid technologies were announced. Lastly, Honda is looking to launch an all-new fuel cell electric model for the Japanese, American, and European markets in 2015.

What little information Honda did give on the new Civic Type R was that it’s being developed specifically for the European market and will feature technology and research gained from the automaker’s efforts in World Touring Car Championships (WTCC). The Japanese automaker also dropped a bold statement, saying that its goal with the new Civic Type R is to become the fastest front-wheel drive vehicle on the famous Nürburgring track.

As for the compact SUV model, it will be also made for Europe only and will be based on the platform for the next-generation Jazz (Fit) model.

What does apply to the American market is the announcement of three new hybrid technologies. Honda will continue to develop its lightweight and compact one-motor hybrid system in hopes of becoming the leader in fuel economy among all hybrid vehicles. Improvements will be made in engine performance output, battery performance, and a newly-developed transmission to help extend the zero-emission driving range.

In addition, the Japanese automaker is developing a more powerful two-motor hybrid system for its midsize vehicles. Lastly, a highly efficient and high output three-motor hybrid system and the Sport Hybrid Super Handling All Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) will focus on driving performance. That is the same technology we will see in the all-new Acura NSX.

In the world of fuel cell electric vehicles, Honda will take its data gathered from the 2008 launch of its FCX Clarity model to produce an all-new fuel cell electric vehicle for 2015.

HONDA CIVIC IS A WINNER OF THE WOMEN'S WORLD CAR OF THE YEAR 2012

The Honda Civic has received an award from the Women's World Car of the Year committee. The award was presented to Honda at the Paris Motor Show 2012.

The Women's World Car of the Year is divided into four categories; Family Car, Luxury Car, Sports Car and Economy Car. The Honda Civic was chosen as the winner for the Economy Car category with second and third places going to the Volkswagen UP and Ford Fiesta respectively.

The Honda Civic was selected from an initial entry list of 300 cars which were nominated by 20 women judges from 11 countries around the world.

The judging panel for the Women's Car of the Year assessed the Civic according to the criteria women consider when buying a car which include safety, value-for-money, aesthetic appearance, storage space, ease-of-driving, colour, sex appeal, environmental footprint and child friendliness.

The award coincides with Honda's recent announcement of new additions to Civic range which include a new the 1.6-litre i-DTEC engine which will be available on the Civic later this year, a new wagon'- style Civic model and a New Civic Type R in 2015. All of these new derivatives are for the European market.

Henny Hemmes and Sandy Myhre, two members of the judging panel, presented the award to Toshiaki Konaka, Director, Honda Motor Europe Car Division, on the Honda stand at the Paris Motor Show.

On receiving the award, Konaka ,commented: "This award highlights the unique exterior styling and practical interior that are synonymous with the Civic model and meet the needs and desires of customers within the C segment in Europe."

arata destul de dragutz, pacat ca nu prea are valente sportive. de apreciat pasajele rotilor in aceeasi culoare, eleroanele de carbo, difuserul si evacuarea, suspensia. Una peste alta un pas inainte.

Puteau sa incerce sa faca si masca in acceasi culoare cu caroseriea, iar la interior scaunele sunt odioase, nu neaparat ca si culori cat faptul ca nu au nici o sustinere pentru picioare, sezutul e plat ca tocatorul meu de acasa

E tot degeaba, imi vine greu sa o compar cu vreun alt civic.
