n-am mai vazut a doua cursa ca eram prea obosit dar se pare ca pe circuitele cu putine linii drepte honda are castig de cauza.
3 podium-uri in 2 curse la 3 masini e un rezultat bun.

sa vedem ce o sa fie la Suzuka ca acolo jumatate de circuit e o linie dreapta. sectiunea folosita in wtcc mi se pare ca are un desen banal, nu stiu de ce vor sa-l foloseasca in configuratia asta.

BENNANI TO DRIVE NEW HONDA IN 2014

Morocco’s motorsport star Mehdi Bennani and Proteam Racing will switch to a Honda Civic car for the 2014 WTCC season.

This will increase Honda’s presence in the championship to four Civic cars in 2014 technical specifications, in addition to those run by JAS Motorsport for Gabriele Tarquini and Tiago Monteiro and the one by Zengö Motorsport for Norbert Michelisz.
Proteam Racing principal Valmiro Presenzini commented: “After ten years as a BMW customer team, we are truly excited and honoured to be welcomed in the Honda racing family. We are fully confident that Bennani will be able to deliver some impressive performance at the wheel of the new Civic.”
And Bennani echoed: “Throughout the current season I think I proved that I am capable of
achieving excellent results and fighting for the top positions. I claimed three second places and four victories in the Yokohama Trophy, And I had close fights for the overall victory with the likes of Tarquini, Coronel and Huff. I am very excited now to make another step forward and being entrusted one of the most competitive cars in the field.”
William De Braekeleer, Motorsport Manager at Honda Motor Europe, explained : “Since Honda
joined WTCC, it has always been our wish to support the championship further by allowing private teams to have access to our cars. Because of next year's new technical regulations, the championship needed as many "2014 specs cars" as possible and it was therefore in line with our philosophy to make a fourth 2014 Civic WTCC available for a private outfit. Needless to say that we are particularly pleased that an agreement could be made with an experienced and successful squad like Proteam and we can’t wait to see Mehdi showing his great talents at the wheel of the new Civic !”

This was on Top Gears website earlier today but it has now been pulled.

A Honda spokesperson confirmed that yes, while everybody in the company is getting all gooey and excited over the upcoming Civic Type R hatch, its 2014 BTCC car will be the estate-bottomed Civic instead.

"We've developed the Tourer into a full race car," Honda told us, "because we - and the engineers at Team Dynamics - believe it will be very competitive. It's going to be a real contender, we're not just doing this for PR value."

BTCC drivers Gordon Sheddon and Matt Neal - who you'll remember were last seen on a TG screen smashing into each other in the name of helping Hammond find the world's best taxi - have only had a couple of preliminary tests in the new Tourer BTCC car, but their initial reaction is that 'it'll be every bit as good as the Civic hatch'.

Full testing will begin 'in earnest' next month, and it'll come sporting the new NGTC Touring Car engine: a 2.0-litre turbocharged direct injection petrol unit producing around or just over 300bhp.

You're probably asking why Honda plumped for an estate car over the hatch? "It's a new car for us, and we think it will ring in the changes over the hatchback Civic," said our Honda man. "Plus, why not do something different? We think the challenge is a good one, and we think it will turn heads at the end of the day. Racing's about winning, obviously, but it's also about attracting people to the sport."

Honda's also confident that this new BTCC Tourer will be quite handy. "We've been in the hunt for the last five or six years with Team Dynamics, and next year we're confident of success," Honda reckons.

Ah yes, Team Dynamics. Who are, of course, are the masterminds behind Stig's bonkers little 130mph mower. If this Tourer is even a tenth as fantastic as that, next year's season could be a classic. Volvo did it with the 850 way back in the 90s, anyway. Racing liveried estates for the win?

Daca nu, inseamna ca ma depaseste total momentul acesta...O gaselnita de marketing?
Tari mari consumatoate de breakuri puternice ar fi destule (tarile nordice toate, plus DE, UK, CH), dar nu stiu daca s-au gandit sa bage si in productie asa ceva.

oricum o sa fie mai ok decat masina de uzina care are buget limitat datorita intrarii Honda in F1 unde o sa fie un fel de Cosworth (ala din ultima vreme).
..... programele astea atipice i-au cam privat de rezultate.

(... am cunoscut zilele trecute unul din Baia Mare care lucra la Honda la Swindom si dupa ce mi-a povestit de loturi intregi de masini aruncate din greseli de fabricatie / aplicatie si proiectare a inceput sa-mi turuie ca au cea mai buna tabla, etc, etc. lucra la comisia de control

maaama nu mai puteam sa-l aud si am parcat masina langa un Polo si l-am rugat sa faca o comparatie la vopsea, alinierea caroseriei, dupa care l-am lasat sa-si bage mainile in usi, capota , plafon , dupa care am comparat cu un Logan parcat alaturi. come on.... honda are tabla de conserva si vopsea ce sare la prima atingere..... )
