With Honda officially confirming that production in Japan of the K20 engine will cease, Honda enthusiasts will be wondering what the future has in store for them, particularly in terms of the venerable Type R. A glimmer of hope has come from Mugen Euro, who have unveiled a new take on the FN2 Civic Type R by stroking it to 2.2 litres. Last year 20 Mugen-tweaked CTRs were released in the UK, although no specific announcements have been made regarding this year's version which has 30% more power and torque over the standard model.
Hiro Toyoda, vice-president of MUGEN Euro, commented: "Environmental pressures mean naturally aspirated engines are rapidly being superseded by other engine architectures and technologies. We may never see the like of the K20 in a mainstream production car again, so felt it only fitting we mark the occasion with this special 2.2 version of the Honda Civic Type R".

Si eu as vrea unul pe ITR dar cred ca raman la B18, nu pot justifica o investitie de 5mii de euro in masina.

Christened the Honda Civic Type R Mugen 2.2, power and torque are up 30 per cent, with 256bhp and peak torque at 240Nm.
Created as a fitting tribute to the highly successful Honda K20 2.0-litre petrol engine that has ceased production in Japan, sports suspension, uprated brakes and a performance body kit help the MUGEN model stand out.
Formed in 2006, Mugen Euro have built or tuned almost 400 examples for race and rally competitors around the world. Plans for the 2.2 car have yet to be finalised, but its expected existing owners will be invited to return their 2010 model cars for an upgrade. Potential buyers can expect to pay a hefty price in the region of £38,000.

exagerat de scump tot ce e mugen-izat si oricat de honda ar fi ele cine dracu da 40-50 de mii de lire pe un mugen fn2? poate ca RR ala de japan ar mai merita intr-o mica masura altfel nejustificat.
sunt curios daca vor oferi si un kit pt 2.2, la pret nici nu vreau sa ma gandesc
